INSTALLATIONS: a mini-setting and adventure for Fudge RPG

           A slow and numbing squalor peels it's way around the globe. Basic people retreat into their homes and hovels, trained not to trust one another, not to trust the very world around them. A few elite masters deploy their winnings the way we always knew they would. They are surrounded by walls and mountains, and missiles, and armies of killer drones. No one challenges them within their walls, and no one dares defy them nearby.
   
    The gas comes quietly first. Circling down into the cities of starving skeletons, peeling their skins and powdering their bones to
dust.... The few who found themselves immune to the gas were left with altered perceptions of the world around them... Leaving them incapable of seeing truth, of discerning the death of the Earth, much less mobilizing their efforts towards a realignment of reality...
    A few lucky souls have retained the better portion of their whole, and survive on luck and lack of mercy. Scratching a path across an overgrown surface.... Some search for a safe haven, or seek to protect the one they have... Others hunt for answers, for truth, for the former masters of a long expired set of social arrangements.

    The first installations were discovered decades ago, before the gas ever came. These were most often little more than small, lightly equipped survival centers, tightly locked and secured from all but the heaviest of efforts. Rumors spread quickly that the elites had built much more extensive installations, deeper into the Earth, complete with forests of fungus, artificial lighting, clean air, and safety from danger.
    The Masters of the Installations have hidden their most expansive creations far from all vestiges of former civilization...
   
    Will you and your comrades be the ones to keep their cool, kill their enemies, and aid their allies? Will you be the ones alive long enough to descend, discover, and build a better destiny? Better take care. It's just not right out there.....
