But "Steampunk" is so much more glamorous than "Industrial!" 

The blank, minus, and plus are cut brass from the looks, but what is the die itself - wood? resin? Nicely crafted and a great design.

Don't get me wrong, I do like Steampunk, at least part of it. It's just that this particular set doesn't make me feel like any other steampunk designs I have done. When I see those dice, I just think about structures like the Eiffel tower...rivets, metal, "engineering"...and not that loose gearwheel concept that many seem to think that steampunk is about. I'll do a steampunkish set, but this one, I just prefer not to let it fall on that category.   (don't take me very seriously tough...      )

@Paul:  Yes, the rivets and plaques are etched brass. The die itself is a blank plastic die, sanded carefully, but untouched otherwise.

I think, I'm going to do some fudge dice brainstorming...

Mmm...I just thought I could "rivet" the fudge die I use as avatar too. it could look pretty cool.

Thanks for the info. One more question - do you have any sense if the weight of the brass (light as it is probably not) or the rivets/screws affect the randomness of the die rolls?

The brass pieces themselves are symetric, so they weight the same. The rivets are cut with a jig, so they all measure the same, and also, I bought a milligram scale for some dice I made earlier, and they get weighted the same on each face. ^^

Anyhow, there is the possibility that the blank dices themselves are unbalanced. On my jourenys of dice making, I have drilled on more than one die, and sometimes I find bubbles inside. I do not have the money to buy a dentists X-ray machine (I said that because I wish I could! ^^). From many fudge dice sets I have made, only one has been ever needed to be replaced (ironically owned by Mr. Stefan O'Sullivan ).
The final argument is...they are handmade...so I cannot expect casino dice precision. Apart from that, they look better themed for rpg than plain casino dice, do they? (personal opinion, not to be agreed just because I say so ^^ )
